If your tiny group of friends (billionaires) were 50% of the climate change problem, you fully recognized the extent of the problem, you believed population was a bigger issue than excessive lifestyles (because you'd definitely believe that), you didn't want to modify your lavish lifestyle at all, and you didn't feel empathy, of course your solution would be to let the plebs die.
