I'm sort of the same way. I have a set of pencils and pens near my couch, plus my work desk (and a whole pen rack), and a desk in the den. Then more in cases and drawers around.

One of the kuru-togas I have is an "advance elite" (I think) and it does have a retractable tip, but the grip section is a lot larger around than the one you have.
