the new prelude isn't trying to be like a golden age Honda. It doesn't need a handful of weird middle aged men who like 30 year old cars. they are selling these cars to people who buy new cars. We're probably not getting cars like that again.
Also the prelude not only doesn't have a CVT, it doesn't have a transmission with multiple gear ratios. it relies on the EV motor for local driving and the gas engine for highways.
I still think it will outsell the miata by a lot.
