Whilst I am in favour of sordition, I'd prefer the Athenian practice of volunteering followed by checking ability to function. My previous town had a mayor who's tenure was so embarrassing for the council that they passed a motion to disbar him from chairing council meetings.
I'm also hostile to the leaders of representative bodies selecting the MHPs from the professions. Assuming they have a register, use sordition for them too, to make sure it's truly representative of them.
