I've made it a point of personal pride that I've allowed relationships with people like that (spend their days talking shit and having no accountability for their own actions) to naturally end.

No hard feelings, no dramatics.
Just quietly exit - stage left.

Generally, those people won't really even notice or object and thats the point. They're just in it for themselves.
