Snatched a Surface Pro 3 from the finn.no, biggest (?) Norwegian marketplace for buying and selling whatever, I dunno, FB marketplace might be bigger but I don't use FB)
Less than an hour after arriving at our place, it had a fresh #linux install. Everything worked as it should with "out of the box" install, even touch screen needed no extra configuration, as web warned me it might need.
It performs impressively for most things I do not really notice a big difference between using this or the really expensive work laptop. I mean, it will probably build large projects that we do at work way slower, but it is not what this will be used for.
This computer costed "next to nothing". Seeing how this, and the 12 year old Mac Mini we bought, run Linux, I don't think I am ever going to buy a new PC anymore.
The Mac was bought as a "home server", but it feels like a waste using it for this, given how fast it works as a "regular computer" once Linux is put onto it.
And, Linux is now simpler to use than #windows
