After seeing that mess play out for enough years, I stopped calling myself a feminist.
And I still don't.
And I never will again.
I've found that when one entwines a political/philosophical perspective with one's identity, as I once did, it is hard to step back and look at the dirty underbelly of those ideas for an honest critique.
It *hurts* when the darkness does finally become visible. You don't want to admit what you see.
