This *IS* America. This is what the US has been heading towards since at least Reagan.
In the late '80s, my friend and I would wonder whether we'd see the collapse of the US in our lifetimes, and agreed that it was probably less than a 50% chance but not much less.
Electing Trump the first time was the writing on the wall.
This is the collapse that the rest of the world has seen coming for a long time.
And it absolutely, positively, IS America.
