Vib-Ribbon began as a commission for a Mercedes-Benz advertising campaign to promote the A-Class cars, but the project was canceled due to design issues with the car. It then became an independent game. Since the game was led by the same creator of *Parappa the Rapper*, it evolved into a rhythm game, and thus Vib-Ribbon was born.
