It's looked that way for just as long. The thing is, when the government greenlights something, as it has, the government itself would have to fail. If they can't make any money, they'll just steal it from you to keep it going. This is not, and hasn't been for a very long time, a free market. AI industry is not only "too big to fail" but it's a government product. Almost pure communism dresses up as capitalism.
