⚡️💻 TECH - A developer turned a $5 ESP32 into a tiny but surprisingly powerful ad blocker.
The custom firmware blocks 537,000 ad and tracking domains using only around 50KB of RAM.
Instead of storing the full blocklist in memory, it keeps it in the ESP32’s flash storage.
It blocks requests in about 10 milliseconds, fast enough for everyday browsing.
