when I switched from gmail to protonmail, I put in the DNS mail records recommended on their site. However, their recommendation for the _DMARC caused all mail from me to be flagged as SPAM until someone here on Mastodon told me how to change the record so that wouldn't happen. So far, that's worked. Check out this article
