But given this model, we get very rich chatbot hosters with a user base which will grow till it reaches 100%. For the whole system, it's a drain, but for the chatbot makers, it's a win.

Edit: This of course doesn't change the point you're making. The point I was trying to make, is that “nobody” cares about the system as a whole, especially not the chatbot brigade, who view externalities as always somebody else's problem.
