Regarding Hamas- In theory I can see where you would think that because Israel allowed aid money into Gaza they 'funded' them.
Hamas' funding and training mostly came from Iran-their patron.

It looks like you're confusing Kuwait with Iran. Two completely different countries.
Saddam Hussein became the tyrant of Iraq without U.S backing. He did it by ruthlessly exploiting the combination of dysfunctional Iraqi politics, tribal loyalty and the incompetence of his political rivals.
