When i worked in an industry regulated by the federal government, it was an accepted fact that the fresh out of school kids who choose to work for the federal government did so at the cost of a soul sucking job so that they could put it on their resume and make more money as an 'in the know' consultant or industry executive later in life.
It was also known that the federal government looked down upon people from industry who had actual real world experience because they were likely somehow tainted by financial motives.
The fresh out PhD school folks had interesting insights into where research should go without any real world knowledge about the steps needed for movement if a product between departments, yet somehow held sway in certain organizations because of scientific expertise and likely salary needs.
When do the good folks in industry who have learned the lessons and can school the idiots rise up?
