Those things are not mutually exclusive. We can have good palliative care and assisted dying.

And since you mention good palliative care, then why the hell are hospices still largely dependent on charity? If you were serious about good palliative care, then you would have been fighting tooth and nail to make hospices part of the NHS and fund them properly.
