sure. But that isn't a trait specific to puritans. When I read Puritan lit I see a far grteater respect and reverence for women than I do in English lit of the same period. Genetically my kin was fighting the Anglos and trying to preserve our culture and language. But I think that Puritan women were respected and revered more than in Ireland at the time. Puritans had a better life than we do. More natural order. A third great awakening would be good in America.
