Did you know that almost all Mario games have an "invisible difficulty setting"!
It's quite genius, basically the game has 3 difficulty levels for each type of player that are mixed into each other so one can go the "easy" way but also chose for harder sections in the same game!
Quite bizarre how much there is to (2D) level design, not even talking about balancing etc
