I begin to wonder if the current AI hype could actually lead to real AGI. By accident.

LLMs are regurging words and sentences they were trained with. Among them: Source code.

Now, the more people start vibe-coding out there, the likelier it becomes that certain systems, which produce "good enough" results, are favored.

So we have an evolutionary thing at work here. Especially if the vibe-coding systems themselves are coded (or improved) with vibe coding.

(Personally, I am a "believer" in AGI. As in: A mind is just a program, no "magic" required.
And "magic" in this context meaning: Something that can not be explained by science, can't be modeled, and so on. Like a soul or Penrose's quantum whatever.)
