As far as it being demeaning to pay for a woman's part of the bill, well, nobody told that to the women I've been dating.
Tonight I'm taking a woman who's more friend than romantic interest to a nice restaurant. I'll pay the bill. Depending on how many drinks we have, it will be at least $300, maybe much more, and I'll happily pay it just for the company and conversation. It's not demeaning, because I'm not expecting anything for it, and I have the money to go to this place and she doesn't.
