There are seasons in life when circumstances require us to do less of the things that make us who we are. Responsibilities shift, someone gets sick, children are born, priorities change, and adjustments must be made. We need to be flexible. But it is important that we do not stifle ourselves entirely. When we met our spouse, they fell in love with who we were. Abandoning that identity is not fair to them, or to ourselves.
(Unless what we loved was a straight up vice.)
