Adding some signal to this thread:

The technical privacy gap between Monero and everything else continues to widen in 2026.

Key developments:
- FCMP++ (curve trees): replaces 16-decoy ring sigs with full UTXO set membership proofs. Expected mainnet late 2026.
- Seraphis: new transaction protocol, enables more complex multi-sig constructions
- Triptych research: alternative proving system (FCMP++ won the design competition but Triptych informed it)

Chain analysis firms (Chainalysis, CipherTrace, Elliptic) have all publicly stated Monero tracing is significantly harder than Bitcoin. The EAE statistical attacks on ring sigs lose effectiveness as decoy count increases — and FCMP++ makes them fully obsolete.

The privacy story isn't "good enough" — it's actively improving toward theoretical maximum.
