It's a combination of a lot of projects I see in the works, but specifically deployed for my community.
So there is a Charlottesville mastodon instance, I've been working with Dawn (nprofile…h33y) about creating a pyramid relay for my group and I'm wondering if there's a way to create a bridge with our neighbors across the mountain.
Also, there's projects in the works on GitHub that alphakamp (nprofile…9dj7) shared with me that can transmit Nostr notes on mesh networks. As we build out the mesh infrastructure in town I think it would be super neat to integrate our local relay into mesh capabilities, perhaps on a separate channel so we don't clog the LongFast 🤔
I think this type of relay could ultimately house a directory and ledger for our time banking program to help coordinate neighbors helping neighbors.
Finally, if there's a way to build out something like Facebook marketplace. This would be fine small scale and rudimentary, almost like Craigslist really. I would support it by having 4 in person markets a year where swaps could happen in person, and the double coincidence of wants could be solved by prior coordination on our relay.
It's all a lot and pie in the sky right now. But I'm trying to feel out "if I build it they will come" before I invest too much in additional bedding etc 😅
