The drive home is the hardest part—the sun is coming up and it's telling my body to wake up. I wear sunglasses on the way home and try to avoid any screens once I get through the door. I check my sleep goals on the app one last time and then it's straight to bed.
I've also found that a cool shower before bed helps lower my core temperature, which is a signal to sleep. If you're on the night shift, don't give up on good rest. It just takes more planning.
