This World Cup I went to the Egypt vs Argentina game and I was in Dallas during Argentina’s game there. I went to two Banderazo Argentino fan meetups in Dallas and I had a blast.
It is probably because the Israeli government went out of its way to publicly support Argentina. Especially since Spain has been very vocal against what Israel has been doing and also publicly against Trump and the Iran war.
As a long football fanatic, I’ve seen a lot of very racist and disturbing behavior from lots of teams and fans. Argentina players and fans have been caught up in this situation recently. Unfortunately it’s a normal situation in the world of football.
BUT Spain has had very high profile racist incidents recently. Vinicius Junior has been a victim of many them.
English players have been subjected to racists incidents while playing against Spain.
Spain’s recent public statements and positions against Trump and Israel is why they got majority of the world support.
