In Mahayana, there’s a bodhisattva vow where most monks take a vow not to enter until everyone is ready to be liberated, but there’s an explicit understanding that this will happen at some point.

The problem is, it can’t. It’s a logical impossibility unless time had a beginning, which all Buddhists reject.
