which is to say: I love Canada. I love my country. But the way we are behaving with petroleum is not an outlier: *it is what we do*. We can do so much better, and we absolutely should.

To do that, the industries profiting from this behavior need to be severely reined in; and to do _that_ we need to knock the slats out of their continued excellent success at keeping even the fact that they are doing it out of the public consciousness.
