timend? And are you saying that it in the display name represents allyship, or something else?

My symbol being in the display name serves multiple purposes:
- It is a form of solidarity immediately noticeable. I am a contentious figure. People are often scared to ally with me, even when they like and genuinely agree with me. Having my marks clearly displayed gives them courage. It reminds them they are not alone.
- It is an active threat. Those who oppose me cannot escape the reality growing before them. If they have ill will toward me, they are reminded what it is they are up against.
- It fills my heart. My ego is massive and fragile, yet I constantly allow it to be bled dry from both within and without. I do not deny what anyone says about it being based in part on my insecurities. But I do not see that as inherently a bad thing, but instead as a need of mine which when fulfilled, allows me to return to the world a hundred fold.

Other things, such as creation of a more general sense of community or more general solidarity, can be accomplished through things placed in the bio. But these are the reasons I have insisted on my mark in some form appearing in the display name.
