I remember when I was 17 or so, I was looking over a consent form that required a parent's signature and consent in order for teens to consent. Remember looking up something like "why tf can't teens consent to their own shit anyway?" And then I get some search results that say that teens are not considered mentally capable making their own decisions. Broke down that day. Months of buildup. When you enlighten yourself over how kids and teens are treated you start seeing it everywhere, because it is. The ageism is so obvious and so rampant. It is in display in almost every media piece and in real life. What used to be nothing to you since everyone called you and treated you as someone inherently inferior as a younger person anyway is now something you can't escape from and can't help noticing. Youth inequality inherently hurts youth.
