In my early days on Mastodon, I wrote a long screed opposing quoted boosts. Having just left the clown-show that was twitter, I wanted to avoid some of the issues that showed up there. Today, I gladly admit I was wrong. Quoted boosts are valuable feature. More user controls simply needs to be placed on them.
