Years ago I had a two day gig as an extra in a TV show(it was pretty interesting seeing some of the process of making TV). A fellow extra had worked at BioWare and gotten so burned out he'd quit and deliberately taken a job without any promotion prospects, so he could spend a few years just going home at the end of his shift with a clear mind.
He said he'd made enough money that the low pay didn't bother him, it was more important to be fully done thinking about work at 5:01 PM.
