Digital driver's licence on your phone is about to become reality in California.
I live in Denmark, and we already have digital driver's licenses, but I am really ambivalent about this development.
Having it on your phone: Very convenient.
Having to unlock your phone and handing your phone *unlocked* to a police officer: Dystopian.
For this to be both convenient and safe, there has to be some way to show your driver's license without unlocking the entire phone.
