I think I'll try to replace the motherboard again, install CentOS or RHEL, and try to xfer all the RPMs related to the asic.
There is a treasuretrove of rc.d scripts that call all the binaries needed in order to initialize the asic.
It would be awesome if all the ethernet and SFP+ interfaces showed up in the OS... I doubt, but would be cool.
