I understand why custodial lightning has to go away but at the same time I feel like I don't really get enough use out of the Lightning network to justify running my own node (other than for financial deplatforming preparedness).
If you're someone who:
1) rarely receives sats,
2) has a million sats locked up in an outbound channel,
3) it takes you forever to move even half of that to your channel partner,
do you really need to purchase an inbound channel?
It feels a little like that dusty, old checkbook that you moved out of your purse and into the fireproof safe.
Wow, I just realized that I was already married before I got my first checking account, and the checkbook was always in her purse. How did single guys carry a checkbook back before debit cards existed?
