Oh geez. The guy who handles the office compost bin went on two-week vacation without designating someone. 🙄 Opened the lid an dozens of fruit flies came out, and there were about a hundred egg cases ready to hatch glued to the lid/charcoal filter. NOT TO MENTION THE SMELL.
