Ooh! Someone who actually worked on the Middle Earth line! ICE campaign modules were some of the best stuff ever made for RPGs. So many YEARS of gaming could be had in any single one of them!
Personally I didn't make that choice. MERP was a game I didn't like. It simplified the wrong parts of RM, in my opinion: it felt incomplete yet still complicated. The best simplified RM (and the one I actually still own in physical, having lugged it half-way around the world) was HARP.
