I don't think that's even legal. I'm not sure who has liability in this case.
How much power does your desktop draw? (And how are you powering it now?)
Also an alternative option: Adapters from the oven/range plug to the proper circuit you need.
Of course this is somewhat inconvenient if you actually /use/ the range, but if you don't it's perfectly viable.
