Taqqiya in Islam allows one who's placed in a state of coercion to lie in order to save himself from life threatening harm.
Shiism's conception of taqqiya is more broad and it entails deceiving others from learning your true beliefs and motives. Also in their tradition, taqqiya is a praise worthy act and one is rewarded for it.
