i thought so too but there may be some sort of bottleneck
in my case my /home partition is on a mechanical HDD thats fully LUKS encrypted, so im sure the read times are utter ass
even with XFS as the filesystem on top of the encryption it slowed my whole desktop to a crawl when trying to save to my big ass meme folder
