Many of (what is left of) the #Iran leadership want a deal.
What Trump doesn't understand is that he destroyed the Iranians ability to come to a deal when he forced #Israel into a cease fire. Trump thought this is a gesture of good will. The Iranians saw this as a sign of defeat.
By convincing the Iranians that they won, that they can dictate terms, he made it impossible for them to compromise. Why should they give up on anything if they are dictating the terms?
The cease fire in Lebanon didn't help to create a deal. It shattered any hope for a deal. The only way to get to a deal now is to completely humiliate Iran. To shatter everything they have so that they can't deny defeat. Then they will make a deal.
Personaly I think this is the better path.

#Trump and #Bibi handled the #IRGC a victory and sacrificed #Israel long term security. From Israel's POV, nothing fundamentaly changeed. Hamas controls #Gaza, #Hezbollah controls Lebanon and the IRGC controls Iran and are trying to make a nuclear bomb.
The only thing that changed is that now the IRGC knows it can effectively use the straight of Hormuz to control #Europe
