we need to talk about what we're trying to do here.

I think we're mostly collectively allocating attention with comments. like a blog, it is public. there shouldn't be abuse, but there will have to be stumbling on mean stuff and misinformation. again, like the web.

those who want more privacy also tend to want it to be "safer". more like a tight knit community. what people now get in group tech. I think matrix has huge potential.

but if we confuse these goals, nobody will be happy.
