So how is #gardening going, especially after the Great Potato Debacle of 2025?

It's not.

Garden partner got their knickers all in a dramatic twist, didn't explain it, didn't ask for help or give any clarification, only ranted about money, and has now absolutely ghosted everybody.

My chickens ate all the sweet potato slips that I had both planted in my back yard and had heeled into sand for planting at the big garden.

Those damn birds also killed all of my dahlias. Dahlias are incredibly easy to grow -- unless you have chickens.

The chard that I put in the same spot never appeared because of same. (I still have time to replant chard for fall, but... chickens!)

Parts of my front yard are now way too shady for the raised bed that I put my few peppers and tomatoes into, so they're not thriving.

And slugs got my cucumbers.

I think I'm going to quit trying to raise food myself.

I SUCK at it! 😖
