The city I live in in Japan, a few years before I came here someone had the bright idea to rip up all the asphalt in the tram tracks and plant grass there instead.

Looking at photos from before they did that, it looks so *dreary*. Now there’s this strip of green through everything. These little things matter so much!

They even had to convert an old tram to add a huge water tank and be a watering machine for the grass. edit: apparently they also built a lawnmower
