I keep seeing headlines like "AI is driving economic growth" and contributing to growing stock prices, while it's making the job market static.

And I gotta ask...

How is that possible?

What, exactly, is the economy built on that it can cut out an entire swath of able, capable people and still increase stock prices?

Clearly it's not a producer economy - AI hasn't done much to grow food, build homes, mine and farm resources, sew clothing, etc.

Is it still an economy if we're not part of it?
