Our institution currently lacks a clear-cut policy on the use of #LLMs and generative #AI in #academic work. But during an upcoming seminar on the topic, new master's students will be exposed to different views in the form of 5-10 minute «speed presentations», which will then be discussed in plenary. As I’m apparently viewed as being positioned firmly in the «haters camp» I’ve been asked to present my views to the students, alongside others with other views.
I’d be grateful for any advice or help to distill my thoughts on the matter into some hard-hitting and well formulated arguments and bullets, that can be substantiated with good references and presented to an audience of students and fellow academics. Or maybe you have valid points that I have missed. I feel somewhat strongly about this, but it’s not my field and I find it difficult to argue confidently.
