I mean there's a lot of angles here
- e-bikes have had much more impact on CO2 emissions in aus than electric cars (good for everyone reasonable, bad for conservatives)
- e-bikes let kids and teenagers go much further without needing to get an adult involved (good for everyone reasonable, bad for conservatives)
- e-bikes reduce the number of short trips taken in cars in favour of hybrid trips with public transport (conservatives hate public transport, everyone else likes less cars on the road)
- safety regulations are absolutely not being followed. this one is actually a problem.
