A long time ago, we had just moved into a new neighborhood. For Halloween my mom set up a table at the door with a cast iron cauldron and filled it with candy. She put up a folding screen and donned an above-the-elbow black glove. When the door bell rang, she opened the the door, crooked a finger, and said in a spooky voice, "Come in!"
Almost all the kids ran screaming away in terror.
Turns out they were expecting the folks who lived there before who had taken a flash photo when the door opened.
