A key problem that the US has is thediminant power of the Fourth Estate. The media is too monopolized , polarized on purpose and actively working to dumb the populace down. This is not unique to the US but it is very pronounced in the US. As long as this is not addressed it will ultimately not matter who is in charge in the long run as the path down idiocracy-lane is clearly paved and an easy path to walk down for the people in the years to come.
