I have a running bit where I ask my subordinates if they'll consider taking my job - telling them how fun and easy it is and how it's *so worth the 3% extra I get. Five years - no takers! I have another running gag where if anything goes wrong in our unit and my managers are analyzing and/or intervening, I immediately jump up and yell, "It's my fault! Demote me! Get someone better in here to clean up this shitshow!" They laugh, say I'm doing a fine job, and issue me more duties.
