No, the party pulls the DSA to the right. I've been a DSA member since 2011, seen it plenty. Look at Mamdani right now. He got where he is because of a huge effort by NYC DSA, then he turns around and hires DNC folks to run his campaign, starts distancing himself from the DSA, says he doesn't stand for their platform, says in interviews that "socialist" doesn't mean anything about policy it's just about how hard he will fight...I'm not saying he's not still miles ahead of the other candidates, but we're watching in real time as the Democrats pull this DSA candidate further to the right. It seems like he could have won as a socialist and not had to water down his platform and not had to feed more power into the corporate Democratic party.
